“Those who are satisfied with work and interpersonal relations have a sense of personal honesty about themselves and as a consequence are able to be honest and ethical with others”.

This testing resource web is administered by Stephen Tiebout, pictured here. For many years I have been fascinated by the possibilities of self-discovery one can achieve through directed and focused self-analysis.  Personality typing tests and career preference tests can help you grow in two of the most important aspects of your life, interpersonal relationships and your relationship with work and career.

My undergraduate degree is in psychology; it was my intention to complete graduate school and go into counseling as a professional psychologist. Events and who I was 30 years ago delayed my plans, as John Lennon said, “life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans”. I’ve been through several incarnations of work and career. After volunteering and serving in the Army in Germany in the late 1970′s, I returned to Seacoast New Hampshire and started a property management company, buying and renovating multifamily buildings.

I built this business up  for 11 years, and subsequently acquired and ran a second property management company specializing in tourism for 14 years.  I learned much about human nature, being a property manager!  I figure over those 25 years I worked with and assisted thousands of customers, clients, property owners, vendors, and officials in the public sector. I’ve collaborated with some really dedicated and talented people, individuals who loved their work and had an innate honesty about who they were and how they dealt with others. I’ve also experienced the darker side of human nature, people it seemed who felt you had to loose in order for them to win. I’ve learned to judge a person not by what he or she says, but what they say and do.

I’ve observed that those who are satisfied with work and interpersonal relations have a sense of personal honesty about themselves, and as a consequence are able to be honest and ethical with others. I believe that individuals who lack a sense of integrity are in denial about their motivations and where they are headed in life. Over the years, my interest in the mystery of the human psyche and what motivates people to achieve has never waned.

I’ve taken the MBTI and Strong instruments a number of times during the last 20 years, as well as a number of other psychological testing instruments. I am convinced that a self-motivated person can achieve greatness of spirit and self-worth, and gain respect in the eyes of others by periodic re-examination of their motivations, preferences, and life interests; sort of an experiential reality check.

There are exciting developments in the area of career counseling made possible by increased understanding of how the human mind learns and adapts. Life Coaching, an offshoot of personal and career counseling is a prime example. By exploring all aspects of a clients life, work, and relationships as an integrated whole, a seasoned life coach can accelerate their clients’ growth into positive life change. And what better way to enter into a career counseling or life coaching interaction than to be armed with the results of the best-of-the-best personality typing and career preference tests, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory.

Our qualified MBTI and Strong test administrators are ready to assist you with your test results. Choose a test or test package and begin your journey to greater self-awareness now!
